What is a Fractional CMO?
A Fractional CMO is an experienced marketing executive who works with your company on a part-time or contract basis. You get the strategic leadership and expertise of a seasoned CMO without the full-time salary, benefits, and long-term commitment. Think of it as executive-level marketing guidance calibrated to your current stage and budget.
How is this different from hiring a Marketing agency?
Agencies execute campaigns. I provide leadership. As your Fractional CMO, I become part of your team by attending leadership meetings, making strategic decisions, mentoring your people, and being accountable for results. I may help you select and manage agencies, but my focus is on the strategy and capabilities that drive long-term growth, not just campaign execution.
How much time commitment is typical?
It really depends on your needs. I work with some clients 4-6 days a month and others a couple weeks a month. This includes weekly strategy sessions, ongoing Slack/email access, and hands-on involvement in key initiatives. The beauty of fractional is flexibility. We can scale up during critical periods (like a product launch) and scale back when appropriate.
How do you work with existing marketing teams?
I work alongside your team, not above them. My role is to provide strategic direction, coach and develop talent, and help build processes that elevate everyone’s work.
